FAQ
Why does the memory value differ from Settings or another app?
The OS does not expose one exact user-facing free-RAM figure. Phone Check shows an estimate derived from public information, including reclaimable memory, and labels the component breakdown and limitations.
Can Phone Check free RAM or storage?
No. Phone Check does not claim to perform unsupported memory cleaning or automatic storage optimisation. It provides measurements that can help you decide whether to review settings or your own files.
Why is there no temperature in degrees?
Third-party apps do not receive a general-purpose exact CPU or battery temperature. Phone Check therefore shows only the qualitative thermal state provided by the OS.
Why does the widget differ from the current value?
The widget does not run a continuous background monitor. It shows the latest snapshot saved by the app and its age. Open and refresh Phone Check when you need a current reading.
Do diagnostics require permissions?
Camera, microphone, location, and motion permissions are requested only for their named diagnostics. Denying one does not block the rest of the app, and you can change access later in Settings.
Are support reports uploaded automatically?
No. Reports are generated locally and leave the device only through the system share destination you choose. They may contain storage and IP-address details, so review them before sharing.
