Status Lens Privacy Policy
Status Lens processes measurements on your device and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or accounts.
Data collection
Status Lens and CAEN Inc. do not collect personal data or diagnostic data through your use of the app. There are no automatic uploads to a CAEN server and no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
Measurements such as CPU activity, estimated memory use, storage, battery, thermal state, network interfaces, and device information are processed on the device for display in the app.
On-device storage
Settings and the latest widget snapshot are stored locally in UserDefaults and the app's App Group container. Removing the app and its data removes this information.
PDF, CSV, and JSON support reports are created in a temporary on-device location only after you request them. Older report directories are cleared when a new report is generated, and you choose any recipient through the system share sheet.
Optional permissions
- Camera: used only for the live preview and flash test; no photo or video is saved or uploaded.
- Microphone: used for the record-and-playback test; audio is handled as a temporary local file.
- Location: used only to test GPS and compass operation; locations are not saved or uploaded.
- Motion: used only for acceleration, rotation, and tilt diagnostics; motion data is not saved or uploaded.
If you deny a permission, only the related diagnostic is unavailable.
Network diagnostic
When you explicitly start the network diagnostic, the app sends a small HTTPS request to Apple's public connectivity-check page to measure reachability and response time. Nothing is sent to a CAEN server. As with ordinary internet traffic, the destination may process an IP address under its own policies.
Support reports and sharing
A support report may contain the device model, OS version, capture time, storage capacity, network-interface details, and IP addresses. The export screen describes these categories. Status Lens never sends a report automatically; share it only with a recipient you trust.
If you contact us by email or an external form, we use the information you submit to answer and provide support. App measurements are never attached automatically.
Sale and disclosure
CAEN Inc. does not sell personal data obtained from Status Lens or disclose it for advertising. We may respond to a legally valid request where required by law.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by the date on this page or an in-app notice.
